Prospects of transfer transportation development were discussed at NOVOSIBIRSK International Airport
December 15, 2014, the conference titled «Transfer opportunities of NOVOSIBIRSK International Airport (Tolmachevo)» was held at Novosibirsk airport, there representatives of the airport discussed prospects of transfer transportation development with the largest airlines operating via Novosibirsk.
Among the participants were representatives of such Russian and foreign airlines as S7 Airlines, Transaero, Aeroflot, UTair, Angara Airlines, Alrosa Airlines, IrAero, AviaTrafficCompany, AZAL, SCAT, Tajik Air and Turkish Airlines. Also, the conference was attended by representatives of Sirena-Travel, Transport Clearing House, Karagandy airport and Tomsk airport.
In the opening speech, General Director of Airport Tolmachevo OJSC Evgeny Yankilevich noted that the Novosibirsk airport has a significant potential for development as a transfer hub, and the main task of the airport and partner airlines is to cooperate more closely for the development of transfer passenger carriages. The airport has extensive route network with more than 100 domestic and international routes which are in demand by more than 20 million people residing within a 1000 km radius from Novosibirsk.
The airport pays special attention to the quality of services provided to transfer passengers. Since 2013, Terminal A is equipped with a transfer gallery for arriving domestic transfer passengers. Free baggage storage room for transfer passengers is available for 24 hours since the arrival. For the convenience of transfer passengers, connecting gallery between Terminals A and B is under construction.
Due to joint work of Novosibirsk Tolmachevo airport and partner airlines the share of transfer passenger traffic has significantly increased. By the end of 2012 the share was 4% of the total number of passengers, in January-November 2014 - more than 7%.
It is expected that the conference will be held at the Novosibirsk airport on a regular basis.
