Tolmachevo Airport Took Part in the Air Border Checkpoints Development Conference

On 7 December a conference "Air Border Checkpoints at the State Border of the Russian Federation: Problems, Analysis, Ways of Solution" was held in Moscow on the basis of Vnukovo airport. The event was organized by the Ministry of Transport of the Russian Federation and the International Airport Association.

The conference participants were Deputy Minster of Transport of RF Alexander Yurchik, Head of the Department of State Policy in the Sphere of Checkpoins Arrangement at the State Boarder of the Russian Federation of the Ministry of Transport of Russia Alexander Nikolaev, Head of the International Airport Association Sergey Nikotin, representatives of the Federal Security Service of the Russian Federation, Federal Customs Service, Rosgranstroy, Rosselkhoznadzor, Russian consumer protection agency Rospotrebnadzor, Russian airport holdings and operators of RF international airports.

As part of the conference the participants discussed the most topical issues regarding operation and arrangement of air checkpoints at the state border of the Russian Federation.

When making a report, the head of the Siberian cluster Novaport Holding LLC, General Director of JSC Tolmachevo Airport Evgeniy Yankilevich noted, that the region development, including that in the field of science and education, investment attraction to the region directly depend on its transport accessibility, which is to a great extent ensured by the air border checkpoint. "It is necessary to introduce automated passport control systems as soon as possible in order to increase the capacity of checkpoints, improve the quality of passenger service, decrease the load on the regulatory bodies and improve their efficiency", stressed Evgeniy Yankilevich.

The solutions developed during this conference will become the basis for further research work aimed at improving state administration in this field and enhancing the competitiveness of civil aviation infrastructure of the Russian Federation on the global air transport services market.

NOVOSIBIRSK International Airport is the largest air hub east of the Urals on the main air routes between Europe and Asia. The capacity of domestic terminal makes up to 1,800 passengers per hour, and international terminal capacity is 1,300 passengers per hour. The airport has two runways of ICAO I and II categories.
