Project of Tolmachevo Airport Development Was Presented at the "Transport of Russia" Forum

XII International Forum and exhibition "Transport of Russia" are being held in Moscow on 20-22 November.

On 20 November Evgeniy Yankilevich made a report at the industry conference called "Regional Aviation – a System Element of the Mainline Infrastructure" as part of the Forum business program. The event was attended by the Minister of Transport Yevgeny Dietrich, Deputy Minister of Transport Alexander Yurchik, Deputy Head of the Federal Air Transport Agency Oleg Klim, aviation industry representatives. The issues of regional airports infrastructure reconstruction and interregional passenger air routes network expansion in the Russian Federation were discussed among other things during the conference.

In his speech Evgeniy Yankilevich highlighted the need for a new approach to the provision of a modern terminal infrastructure for air hubs. "It stands to reason that the terminal of the future should be designed to handle transfer passenger traffic with minimum time spent on formalities, he said. – This issue will be resolved with the help of planning, technologies and process automation. And the core values of today, such as personal health and safety, time and comfort of passengers as well as global approaches to the terminal functionality should also be taken into account".

We remind that at present design works of Tolmachevo passenger terminal are underway. It is planned to implement the project by means of private investments by 2025 in two stages with the completion of the first, main stage in 2022. At least 11.5 billion rubles will be allocated by the shareholder for the design and construction of the passenger terminal until 2022. By 2022 the airport expects to increase passenger traffic to 10 million people a year.

The project of Tolmachevo airport development as one of the leading air hubs of the Russian transport system was among the projects presented by the Novosibirsk region within the framework of the International exhibition "Transport of Russia - 2018". The event participants traditionally demonstrate the most significant infrastructure projects in the area of railway, automobile, aviation, marine and inland water transport as well as the progress of their implementation.

"Transport of Russia" Forum annually gathers more than 3,500 industry professionals. The Forum will address the issues of all the main modes of transport development with the participation of the industry leaders and the Ministry of transport of the Russian Federation. Audit of material, financial and human resources, creation of optimal conditions for major transport and infrastructure projects, obtaining the winning position in the global competition, investment attractiveness of the transport industry as well as transport education and future of transport university specialists are among the issues of the Forum agenda this year.

NOVOSIBIRSK International Airport is the largest air hub east of the Urals on the main air routes between Europe and Asia. The capacity of domestic terminal makes up to 1,800 passengers per hour, and international terminal capacity is 1,300 passengers per hour. The airport has two runways of ICAO I and II categories.
