Route network of Tolmachevo airport is expanding: if in 2007 it consisted of 58 destinations, in 2017 it included more than 95 cities. Following the results of 2018 the share of transfer passenger traffic increased to 23% compared to 20% in 2017. Currently, Tolmachevo provides at least 3 arrival and departure connecting waves during the day and the number of transfer connection combinations across the route network of S7 Airlines reaches 2,000.
According to Natalia Mzhelskaya, work on a joint project shows very important practical results for the regions and the country as a whole: "For a big number of city-pairs of the S7 route network, for which Novosibirsk is a geographically logical connecting point, the flight via Tolmachevo is significantly cheaper and faster compared to flights via Moscow. And thanks to successful experience of air service subsidy programs combining the airport and the airline company managed not only to increase price affordability of the flights, reduce the transportation time through shorter subsidized flight segments, but also to increase the budget effectiveness of the subsidies use. Flights through the air hub in Novosibirsk enable maximum commercial load, reduce time and operational costs of airline companies".
