Tolmachevo Aviation Hub Development Strategy Is Presented At the Meeting with the Participation of the Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation in Novosibirsk
The issues of development of airport Tolmachevo was discussed during the working trip of Deputy Chairman of RF Government Maxim Akimov in Novosibirsk area.
The key point of Maxim Akimov's program was a meeting in the regional Government devoted to the development of the road transport industry in the region. The meeting was attended by Minister of transport of the Russian Federation Evgeniy Dietrich, Plenipotentiary representative of the President of the Russian Federation in the Siberian Federal district Sergey Menyaylo and acting Governor of the Novosibirsk region Andrey Travnikov.

On the eve of the meeting in Moscow, a working meeting of the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin and the head of the Novosibirsk region Andrey Travnikov took place. During the meeting, the head of state stressed the importance of the development of the Novosibirsk aviation hub, joint efforts with the Ministry of transport of the Russian Federation to modernize the airport and terminal infrastructure of Tolmachevo Airport.
Addressing the participants of the meeting, the head of the region noted the key role of the Novosibirsk transport hub in the modern transport scheme of the country, as well as in the strategy of spatial development of Russia, which is being created today, and also the head of the region voiced the priority issues of the transport sector for the development of the region. Among the important issues Andrei Travnikov mentioned the development of Tolmachevo Airport and the development of air transport hub in Novosibirsk.
Minister of transport of the Russian Federation Evgeniy Dietrich, assessing the transport system of the region, noted that Tolmachevo airport has the potential for the development of both passenger and freight traffic and has all the opportunities to become one of the largest aviation hubs.
During the meeting, the General Director of Tolmachevo Airport JSC Evgeniy Yankilevich and the General Director of S7 Group Anton Eremin presented a joint report, in which they announced the results of cooperation between the airport and the airline and the prospects for the development of the aviation hub in Novosibirsk. In addition, they discussed proposals to improve the efficiency of the state program of subsidizing regional transport in the framework of subsidized regional flights under the Government of the Russian Federation Decree No. 1242.
Evgeniy Yankilevich noted that public-private partnership, implemented by shareholders and authorities within the framework of the Tolmachevo airport development, will ensure the interests of the state in many issues, including the solution of the problems of the development of the main infrastructure and the transit potential of the Russian Federation in global markets.
“The reconstruction of the airport complex Tolmachevo within the state program "development of the transport system" and a comprehensive plan for the modernization and expansion of the main infrastructure of the Russian Federation until 2024 will also allow the airport to expand its capabilities and prepare to serve 10 million passengers a year,” — Evgeniy Yankilevich said
On the same day, Deputy Prime Minister Maxim Akimov and transport Minister Evgeniy Dietrich got acquainted with the infrastructure and the scheme of long-term development of Tolmachevo airport until 2023.
NOVOSIBIRSK International Airport is the largest air hub in Russia east of the Urals on major transit routes between Europe and Asia. The capacity of domestic terminal makes up to 1,800 passengers per hour, while the international terminal capacity — up to 1,300 passengers per hour. The airport has two runways of ICAO I and II Categories. Passenger traffic at the airport exceeded 5 million passengers in 2017.
