NOVOSIBIRSK International Airport promotes investment projects financing

In 2014 NOVOSIBIRSK International Airport will invest the amount of over 1 bln roubles in the airport infrastructure development, of which 400 mln roubles will be invested to renew the park of special equipment necessary to provide aircraft ground handling services as well as passengers, baggage and freight processing. 

The overall investment in 2013 exceeded 500 mln roubles. By the resolution of the shareholder’s general meeting of Airport Tolmachevo JSC, net profits for the year 2012 was not distributed but allocated for the capital budget financing. 


The special equipment park is expected to be extended with more than 30 units by the end of 2014. Starting from July, five new aircraft tow trucks, two fire-fighting engines, a highloader (for flight catering transportation), two low-floor passenger buses, airfield maintenance equipment will be put into operation on a step-by-step basis. Moreover, the airport will provide special deicing equipment, baggage conveyor belts, a jet bridge and other facilities including apron and terminal cargo handling equipment. The modern technologies will be involved into operation in order to improve results in terms of the growing cargo and passenger traffic of Novosibirsk airport. 


Started in 2013, renewal of the special equipment park is conducted in parallel with preparations for airfield complex modernization of NOVOSIBIRSK International Airport. On the project completion, the floor space of the international passenger terminal (Terminal B) will expand from 11,000 m2 up to 24,000 m2 while its capacity will be doubled (from 750 up to 1,300 passengers per hour). In order to improve passenger service level, a new baggage processing system, two extra jet bridges, escalators, elevators for PRMs (passengers with reduced mobility) are planned to be installed as well as business lounge and parenting room being furnished. Construction works of the linking gallery between Terminal A and Terminal B are to be fulfilled as well as the border control point to be expanded with the number of passport control booths being doubled, from 6 to 12 (on both arrival and departure). 


Total investment of the terminal reconstruction makes up 1 bln roubles. At year-end 2013, the airport implemented approximately 300 mln roubles within the framework of the project. This year the same investment is expected to reach over 500 mln roubles. 

The enterprise provides financial support for all investment projects from the airport’s own funds – in order to reduce credit exposure the airport’s business profits are maximally involved in repayment. The airport modernization policy will be continued in the future.
