Tolmachevo Airport: significant growth of regional flights
At the end of 2017, Tolmachevo Airport has served 709 547 passengers on regional flights (+41 % by 2016). At the same time, passenger traffic on flights operated under the subsidy program for regional air transportation increased by 169% and amounted to 183,674 people.

Ten destinations: Baikit, Gorno-Altaisk, Tomsk, Noyabrsk, Khanty-Mansiysk, Nizhnevartovsk, Strezhevoy, Surgut, Severo-Yeniseysk and Novy Urengoy had been subsidized in 2017 within the framework of the RF Government Regulation No.1242 of December 25, 2013. For a comparison, there were eight destinations: Abakan, Krasnoyarsk, Gorno-Altaysk, Kyzyl, Tyumen, Noyabrsk, Novosibirsk and Perm.

Notably that Severo-Yeniseysk became a new regional route of 2017 opened within the framework of the RG Government Regulation No. 1242. Subsidized in 2016 flights to Abakan, Kyzyl, Tyumen and Talakan came out on a commercial basis without government support. In cooperation with S7 Airlines flights to Omsk were resumed, which are carried out outside the subsidy program.

Such destinations as Kyzyl, Noyabrsk, Tomsk, Severo-Yeniseysk, Strezhevoy, Khanty-Mansiysk and three new routes — Beloyarsk, Nadym and Kogalym had been included on the list of subsidized regional destinations in the current year. Consideration was being given to the possibility of resuming subsidizing flights to Gorno-Altaysk. Flights on these destinations will be performed by S7 Airlines, NordStar, Turuhan and UTair airlines.
Beyond the subsidy programs of regional air services, it is planned to increase frequency of flights to Surgut, Norilsk, Novy Urengoy, Omsk, Abakan, Salekhard, Perm, Krasnoyarsk, Irkutsk, Khanty-Mansiysk as well as resumption of flights for Bratsk.

In 2017, for the first time since the beginning of the program of state support of regional air services, the government of the Novosibirsk region participated in co-financing of regional flights. Since April of last year, S7 Airlines began to use regional aircraft Embraer 170, opening from Novosibirsk flights on more than 10 destinations. This year, the development of regional air services from Novosibirsk will continue with the active support of the government of the Novosibirsk region and the base air carrier of the airport of S7 Airlines. The airline plans to continue to use Tolmachevo airport as a hub on the routes between the cities of the South of Russia, Siberia, the Far East, Central Asia and far abroad.
NOVOSIBIRSK International Airport is the largest air hub in Russia east of the Urals on major transit routes between Europe and Asia. The capacity of domestic terminal makes up to 1,800 passengers per hour, while the international terminal capacity – up to 1300 passengers per hour. The airport has two runways of ICAO I and II Categories.
