Passenger Traffic at Tolmachevo Exceeded the Historic Maximum by 28.5% in April
In the four months of 2017 NOVOSIBIRSK International Airport served 1,288,305 passengers thus exceeding the historical maximum of 1,002,371 passengers in 2016 by 28.5%. The number of passengers on domestic air routes amounted to 868, 863 people (+18.7%), that on international ones – 419,442 (+55.2%).

In April, passenger traffic of Tolmachevo airport increased by 30.67% compared to the same figure in 2016 and was 347,679 people. 247,727 passengers (+24.9%) were served on domestic routes and 99,952 (+47.1%) passengers were served on international ones.
The number of the airport transfer passengers increased by 102% in April, compared with the same period last year and their share in total passenger traffic rose to 18.7%.

Five most dynamically growing domestic destinations in April were Novy Urengoy (+ 124.6%), Krasnodar (+ 128.5%), Tyumen (+ 218.5%), Sochi (+ 121.5%), Khanty-Mansyisk (+ 261.4%). On international air routes – Krabi (+ 337.8%), Cam Ranh (+ 126.4%), Shymkent (+ 529.5%), Ust-Kamenogorsk (+ 198.1%), Fergana (+ 67.8%). In April, the growth of passenger traffic on far abroad destinations was 57.2% and that on CIS destinations was 25.4%.
In January – April the airport served 14,172 aircraft movements (+20% year-on-year), in April – 3,872 aircraft movements (+22.4%).
Over the four months of 2017, according to preliminary data, 8.980 tons of cargo and mail were handled (+21.7%), including 2.675 tons of cargo and mail in April (+55.2%).
NOVOSIBIRSK International Airport (Tolmachevo) is the largest air hub in Russia east of the Urals on major transit routes between Europe and Asia. The capacity of domestic terminal makes up to 1,800 passengers per hour, while the international terminal capacity – up to 1300 passengers per hour. The airport has two runways of ICAO I and II Categories. In 2016 passenger traffic of the airport exceeded the mark of 4 million passengers.
