Russian Post Opened Regular Flights from China to Novosibirsk
Russian Post opened regular flights on its own medium-haul aircraft TU-204C from Zhengzhou (Xinzheng airport) and Harbin to Novosibirsk, with a flight frequency of 2-3 times a week.
The opening of regular mail flights from China is due to significant growth of mailings from Chinese Internet shops in recent years. Last year alone the volume of parcels and small packets from China amounted to more than 30,000 tons. To ensure fast and smooth delivery of the growing cargo traffic Russian Post purchased two medium-haul aircraft TU-204C in 2016.
In the first month of operation the number of hours for the two aircraft amounted to 229. Moscow, St. Petersburg, Norilsk, Yekaterinburg, Novosibirsk, Anadyr, Pevek, Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky, Yakutsk as well as Harbin and Xinzheng became the main destinations for the transportation of mail and cargo.
The opening of new regular mail and cargo flights from China to Novosibirsk plays a major role, reinforces the importance of the city and the region as a postal logistics centre and is an important project for the development of Tolmachevo airport.
