Novosibirsk Airport Introduces Summer Flight Schedule

From March 26, 2017, a summer schedule with the resumption of seasonal routes and increase in flights frequency on a number of routes is effective at NOVOSIBIRSK International Airport. The new schedule will last until October 28.

In the summer season of 2017 the frequency of flights to Rostov-on-Don, Bratsk, Talakan and Tyumen will increase and flights to Mineralnye Vody, Perm, Baikit, Strezhevoy and Tomsk will continue. The frequency of flights to St. Petersburg as well as to the south of Russia: Simferopol, Anapa and Sochi will traditionally increase in summer. Meanwhile, Rossiya Airlines is considering the possibility of using Boeing 747-400 on Novosibirsk - Sochi route.

As for domestic routes, special attention should be paid to the program of regional air service development of S7 Airlines, a partner of Tolmachevo airport. Its peculiarity is the active use of Novosibirsk Airport as a transfer hub on routes between the cities of southern Russia, Siberia, CIS and the Far East, as well as the planning of flights on Embraer 170 aircraft, a new airline type for the airline. As part of this program S7 Airlines will start operating flights to Omsk, Nizhnevartovsk, Surgut, Abakan, Gorno-Altaisk, , Noyabrsk, Tyumen, Yekaterinburg, Krasnoyarsk, Novy Urengoy and Salekhard. A part of flights will be operated under the state support program for air service in accordance with the Decree of the Government of the Russian Federation dated 25 December 2013, No. 1242. This year, the Government of the Novosibirsk Region plans to take part in co-financing of regional flights for the first time since the start of the program.

The state support program for regional air service will extend to nine destinations operated from Tolmachevo airport – Baikit, Gorno-Altaisk, Nizhnevartovsk, Novy Urengoy, Noyabrsk, Strezhevoy, Tomsk, Surgut and Khanty-Mansyisk.

Support for air service of special categories of passengers from the cities of the Far East to air hubs of the Russian Federation will continue as part of the Decree of the Government of the Russian Federation dated 29 December 2009, No. 1095. The support program will be in effect from 1 April to 31 October. The list of subsidized destinations for Tolmachevo airport includes such cities as Yakutsk, Vladivostok, Khabarovsk, Chita, Mirny, Polarny, Magadan and Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky.

A special support program for air service to Crimea by the Decree of the Government of the Russian Federation dated 29 April 2014, No. 388 will also operate for special categories of passengers. This program will be in effect from 15 May to 30 November.

With the onset of spring-summer period Tolmachevo airport will continue to service more than 13 destinations to CIS countries. Partner airlines will operate flights to Bishkek, Osh, Almaty, Astana, Shymkent, Ust-Kamenogorsk, Dushanbe, Khujand and other cities. It should be noted that S7 Airlines is planning to service some destinations on a new type of aircraft Embraer 170 with increased frequency. It is planned to increase flights frequency from four to seven flights a week on Novosibirsk-Astana route.

Flights to Tbilisi and Dusseldorf will become new destinations for international routes network during the summer period. A large program of charter flights operation to Antalya is planned in the 2017 summer schedule; seasonal charter flights to Larnaca, Burgas, Thessaloniki and Southeast Asia – Nha Trang, Bangkok, Phuket and Hainan will continue to be operated.

Russia state border entry-point reequipping completed in 2016 will allow higher level of passenger service on international flights of Novosibirsk airport. The number of passport control checkpoints has tripled: from 6 to 17 on arrival and from 6 to 18 on departure, 2 checkpoints are also equipped in the transfer hall.

Design works for further reconstruction of the airport passenger terminal are planned for 2017. They will include several variants of the domestic airlines section and the combined terminal development. The design will take into account the significant increase in passengers comfort level as well as the use of modern technological equipment.

Tolmachevo airport is currently preparing for the spring-summer period (SS). Preparation for the SS will be completed by 30 April. Airport and third-party airport staff receive special technical training and additional briefings, including those on occupational health and safety, aviation safety and flights safety, first aid. Special purpose vehicles, mechanic means and ground equipment, various enterprise systems as well as the airport infrastructure ensuring operation processes and functioning of the enterprise are continuing to be prepared. The airfield service staff of Tolmachevo airport are renovating marking of the airfield artificial coatings by the beginning of the spring-summer period. From 1 April the staff of the service starts to actively monitor ornithological situation on the airfield as part of ornithological safety of flights.

NOVOSIBIRSK International Airport (Tolmachevo) is the largest air hub in Russia east of the Urals on major transit routes between Europe and Asia. The capacity of domestic terminal makes up to 1,800 passengers per hour, while the international terminal capacity – up to 1300 passengers per hour. The airport has two runways of ICAO I and II Categories. In 2016 passenger traffic of the airport exceeded the mark of 4 million passengers.
