Significant growth in passenger traffic on Novosibirsk – Istanbul route was registered in February and March of 2017. For instance, in February it amounted to 36% compared to the same period of the last year, and 27.1% over 19 days of March.

Taking into account the fact that Turkish Airlines has notified Tolmachevo airport about the discontinuation of flights from/to Novosibirsk since 24 March 2017 and based on the feedback and wishes of air passengers, NOVOSIBIRSK International Airport invites a new partner for this direction.

Keeping of the Novosibirsk – Istanbul flight in the Tolmachevo route network will give passengers of Novosibirsk airport more opportunities to plan and arrange flights on popular and unique foreign destinations.

"We thank our partner, Turkish Airlines, for long-term cooperation and hope that a new partner will be able to offer our passengers wide opportunities to arrange transfer flights from Novosibirsk through Istanbul to different cities of the world", noted General Director of JSC "Airport Tolmachevo" Evgeniy Yankilevich.

Alternative connections on international routes are available to Tolmachevo passengers through direct flights to Europe operated by the airport's basic carrier, S7 Airlines. "We hope that our partners will use arising opportunities for development, including, perhaps, those in the route network. The growth of passenger traffic in our airport is an objective reality and the airlines with the best solutions on popular routes will be able to capitalize on that", commented Yankilevich.

NOVOSIBIRSK International Airport (Tolmachevo) is the largest air hub in Russia east of the Urals on major transit routes between Europe and Asia. The capacity of domestic terminal makes up to 1,800 passengers per hour, while the international terminal capacity – up to 1300 passengers per hour. The airport has two runways of ICAO I and II Categories. In 2016 passenger traffic of the airport exceeded the mark of 4 million passengers.
