NOVOSIBIRSK International Airport welcomes participants and guests of the Delphic Games
More than 700 people arrived to Novosibirsk to participate in the cultural project Delphic Novosibirsk-2013, which took place from 16th to 21st May. Within its framework the capital of Siberia hosted the 12th Youth Delphic Games of Russia and the 8th Open Youth Delphic Games of the CIS.
Members of the organizing committee of Delphic Novosibirsk established a round the clock headquarters in the air terminal of NOVOSIBIRSK International Airport in order to meet and greet the participants and guests of the event. Contestants from 39 regions of Russia as well as from Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Tajikistan and Ukraine became guests and passengers of the airport on these days.
In addition, NOVOSIBIRSK International Airport served members of the jury and special guests of the Games, coming from Italy, Austria, Turkey, Greece, Slovakia, the United States and other countries.
NOVOSIBIRSK International Airport is the largest air hub east of the Urals on major transit routes between Europe and Asia. The domestic airline capacity makes up 1,800 passengers per hour, on international flights – 750 passengers per hour. The airport has two runways. In 2013 it expects to serve over 3.7 million passengers.
Cultural project Delphic Novosibirsk-2013 is aimed at identifying and supporting talented and creative young people. Games gathered more than 2,300 participants aged 10 to 25 years. They took part in creative competitions in 28 disciplines in the field of music, singing, dancing, design, photography, cooking and hairdressing. Also, the festival program included circus performances, exhibitions of folk crafts and trades.
