Photo exhibition dedicated to the 120 years anniversary of Novosibirsk city opened at NOVOSIBIRSK International Airport

The exhibition of a famous photographer-blogger from Novosibirsk Slava Stepanov (Gelio) Novosibirsk 120 years – Gaining height! opened in the Domestic Terminal of NOVOSIBIRSK International Airport. It is dedicated to the airport and the city which celebrates its anniversary on June 30, 2013.

The exhibits - unique shots taken from unusual perspectives - allow guests of Novosibirsk to get acquainted with the city and for its residents - to take a fresh look at familiar spots. Most photos are dedicated to the biggest airport in Siberia and aviation. It offers passengers rare opportunity to see the world from another angle as well as to get positive emotions. The exhibition presents many new photos by Slava Stepanov included in the new edition of Novosibirsk by Gelio photo album.

The exhibition will be open for passengers and guests of NOVOSIBIRSK International Airport in the Arrival hall and in the public area on the second level of the Domestic Terminal till the end of June.

  

NOVOSIBIRSK International Airport is the largest air hub east of the Urals on major transit routes between Europe and Asia. The domestic airline capacity makes up 1,800 passengers per hour, on international flights – 750 passengers per hour. The airport has two runways. In 2013 it expects to serve over 3.7 million passengers.The airport has been nominated for World Routes Awards in the category “The Best Airport of CIS 2012”.

Slava Stepanov (Gelio) is a photographer-blogger from Novosibirsk involved in high rise architecture and industrial photography taking pictures across Russia from Kaliningrad to Vladivostok and abroad. Currently his portfolio comprises photos depicting various Russian cities, the largest manufacturing enterprises and infrastructure facilities in the CIS and beyond. The author made over 30 aviation photo reports including multiple shootings in NOVOSIBIRSK International Airport. In the photographer’s opinion, height fascinates, makes you feel free and transforms daily routine. Sometimes another perspective is already enough to note something new in familiar places.
