Novosibirsk Tolmachevo Airport took part in Routes World 2012
Novosibirsk International Airport Tolmachevo took part in the 18th International Forum on the development of air routes - Routes World 2012 which was held in Abu Dhabi (UAE). The Forum has brought together the largest airports and airlines of the planet, as well as representatives of tour operators from around the world.
Within the forum, Novosibirsk International Airport Tolmachevo was nominated for World Routes Awards 2012 in the category "Best Airport of CIS 2012"
Also, during the Forum representatives of Tolmachevo airport conducted a series of talks on the implementation of flights with foreign cargo and passenger carriers such as Lufthansa, Czech Airlines, Emirates, Etihad, Air China, China Eastern and others.
Tolmachevo Airport has made new business proposals to Russian and Foreign airlines and enlisted their intentions on opening of flights on perspective directions from Novosibirsk to Seoul, Shanghai, Tel Aviv, Helsinki and others. There was also reached a preliminary agreement on the implementation of technical landings in Tolmachevo with one of the airlines of Northern Europe as well as on the opening of the regular flight from Novosibirsk to Gandja (Azerbaijan) by Azal Azerbaijan Airlines in winter season 2012-2013.
International Novosibirsk Airport Tolmachevo is the largest air hub East of the Urals on major transit routes between Europe and Asia. The capacity on domestic flights is 1 800 passengers per hour, on international flights - 750 passengers per hour. The airport has two runways. According to business plan in 2012 The Tolmachevo Airport plans to serve 3 155 thousand passengers that is 14% higher than in 2011 and handle more than 26,000 tons of cargo and mail that is 28% more than in 2011.
The World Routes Development Forum is the largest aviation forum, which is attended by airports, airlines, equipment suppliers, investors, international and regional associations and national tourism organizations. It is being held since 1995 and includes four regional forums covering participants of air transportation in Europe (Routes Regional Europe), Asia (Routes Regional Asia), Africa (Routes Regional Africa) and the Americas (Routes Regional Americas).
