Airport Novosibirsk (Tolmachevo) begins preparation for work in the spring-summer period.
Preparatory works including coaching, theoretical and practical sessions with ground staff, command post exercises and checks were held at Novosibirsk Airport in conjunction with the new summer 2011 operations period.
Service and divisions of the airport began preparing of specialized snowplows. Heavy snowfalls in winter 2010-2011, led to the formation of sites of massive snow drifts, so the task is to eliminate the main snow at the airport in a short time before the thaw.
Besides, in connection with the coming spring bird migration increased attention is given to the ornithological safety. A visual surveillance and mapping of flown birds in the area of the airfield is conducted, bioacoustic system for scaring away birds is operated, measures to prevent the breeding of birds in the trees within the boundaries of the airport are taken.
Also, experts will check availability, serviceability and efficiency of automatic firefighting equipment, protection and notification of the fire, will check the status and availability of external and internal fire-fighting water supply, labeling of airfield pavements will be updated.
Experts note that preparations for the spring-summer period are held as planned and now in accordance with the submitted airlines applications the schedule for the upcoming summer season is formed.
