All-Russia Table Tennis Tournament for the Cup of Tolmachevo Airport
All-Russia table tennis rating tournament was organized with the support of NOVOSIBIRSK International Airport.
About 100 sportsmen from 12 regions of Russia – tennis players aged 14 and older, having at least first senior degree, participated in the tournament.
The competition took place in the Vega sport complex (Berdsk city). 19 November the games started and 20 November the winners and prize winners were awarded.
As a result of the competition, first and second places in men's and women's rating were taken by sportsmen from Novokuznetsk. Tennis players from Novosibirsk won bronze.
The competition was organized by RPO Table Tennis Federation of the Novosibirsk Region and Department of physical training and sport in the Novosibirsk region with the participation of JSC Airport Tolmachevo, sports club Kristall and Start Line company.
JSC Airport Tolmachevo has been a partner of RPO Table Tennis Federation of the Novosibirsk Region since 2010. Within the framework of cooperation all-Russia and regional competitions, summer health promotion campaigns for sportsmen were organized. Table tennis teams of the Novosibirsk region are provided with uniforms and sports equipment.
"Table tennis is one of the most accessible Olympic sports. It has very good prospects and attracts a great number of those who want to go in for it. It is important to develop and support table tennis in the context of mass sports and healthy lifestyle promotion among residents of the region", notes General Director of JSC Airport Tolmachevo Evgeniy Yankilevich.
JSC Airport Tolmachevo and RPO Table Tennis Federation of the Novosibirsk Region in the nearest future are planning to hold Table Tennis Championship of Siberian Federal District among adults (9-15 January, 2017), 37th All-Russia tournament timed to the Victory Day (April, 2017) and organize children's tournament dedicated to the 60th anniversary of Tolmachevo airport in June 2017.
NOVOSIBIRSK International Airport is the largest air hub in Russia east of the Urals on major transit routes between Europe and Asia. The capacity of domestic terminal makes up to 1,800 passengers per hour, while the international terminal capacity – up to 1300 passengers per hour. The airport has two runways of ICAO I and II Categories.
