Novosibirsk Airport Introduces Summer 2016 Flight Schedule

March 27, 2016 NOVOSIBIRSK International Airport introduced an updated Summer 2016 flight schedule with the resumption of seasonal routes and increase of frequencies on a number of destinations. The summer flight schedule will be in effect until October 29, 2016.

During the Summer 2016 flight schedule the frequency of flights will be increased to such domestic destinations as St. Petersburg, Simferopol, Sochi, Anapa, Krasnodar, Kazan, Tyumen, Chita and Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk. Also, regular flights to Mineralnye Vody will be resumed for the first time in several years.

On a number of regional destinations, particularly to Gorno-Altaisk, flights will be operated on aircraft with larger capacity. Starting from April 2016 frequency of flights to Strezhevoi will be increased, flights to Abakan and Noyabrsk will be continued.

The list of destinations for subsidized transportation of certain categories of passengers travelling from the Far East of Russia to the hub airports of the Russian Federation is significantly expanded. For the Tolmachevo airport such destinations as Yakutsk, Vladivostok and Khabarovsk were complemented with Chita, Mirniy, Polarniy, Magadan, Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky and Anadyr. Recall that the subsidy program for development of air transportation from the cities of the Far East of Russia according to Government Resolution №1095 will act from April 1 to October 31, 2016.

Summer flight schedule of the base carrier S7 Airlines is constructed in such a way as to increase the possibilities of transfer flights via NOVOSIBIRSK International Airport. Due to a minimal layover between flights trips to the southern city of Russia became even more convenient for the residents of Siberia and the Far East of Russia. For example, when flying from Yakutsk to Sochi layover in Novosibirsk will be only 50 minutes, from Khabarovsk to Anapa - 70 minutes.

With the onset of spring and summer NOVOSIBIRSK International Airport will continue to serve more than 15 destinations in the CIS countries. Regular flights to Shimkent will be resumed in May, to Karagandy – in July 2016. Also, frequency of flights to Almaty and Ust-Kamenogorsk will be increased.

Starting from June 2016, direct flights to Seoul and Frankfurt will be resumed on a regular basis. New regular flight to Shanghai will be also put into operation in June 2016. Charter flight program at NOVOSIBIRSK International Airport in the summer 2016 will be traditionally presented by such destinations as Thessaloniki, Bourgas, Heraklion, Larnaca and destinations in Tunisian Republic. The airlines will continue to operate direct scheduled flights from Novosibirsk to destinations in South-East Asia such as Thailand and Vietnam.

By the beginning of June 2016 the airport will complete another one significant stages of the Terminal building modernization – the re-equipment of the Border checkpoint. Number of passport control booths will be tripled: from 6 to 17 for arrivals and from 6 to 18 for departures, also, two booths will be installed in the transfer hall.

Currently the airport is preparing for its operation during the spring-summer period and expected to be ready by April 30, 2015. Under the framework of preparation works the airport departments together with operators have re-examined features of air navigation, ornithological, jet fuel and meteorological support of flights during the spring-summer period, as well as the issues of traffic safety on the apron and maintenance on the airfield. By the beginning of the spring-summer period, airport staff and external organizations pass all appropriate trainings, additional briefings on safety and testing to determine the level of knowledge. Airport staff renews airfield pavements marking, conducts ecological and ornithological inspection of the airfield, finalizes preparations of special vehicles, GSE, and a variety of systems.

NOVOSIBIRSK International Airport is the largest air hub in Russia east of the Urals on major transit routes between Europe and Asia. The capacity of domestic terminal makes up to 1,800 passengers per hour, while the international terminal capacity – up to 1300 passengers per hour. The airport has two runways of ICAO I and II Categories.
