Novosibirsk International Airport Became the Laureate of the 2nd National Award "Air Gateway of Russia"

Awarding of winners and laureates took place on February 9, 2016 in Moscow at Civil Aviation Day in the framework of the business program of the National Aviation Infrastructure Show (NAIS). The ceremony was attended by Assistant to the President of Russia Igor Levitin, Russian Minister of Transport Maxim Sokolov, Deputy Minister of Transport Valery Okulov and Head of the Federal Air Transport Agency Alexander Neradko.

Following the results of 2015 NOVOSIBIRSK International Airport was awarded with the second prize and took the second place in the category Best Airport - 2015 among international airports with passenger traffic of up to four million passengers a year.



The airport is continuously working on improving the infrastructure and quality of passenger service, as well as the development of the route network. One of the key events of 2015 was the completion of the reconstruction of the International Terminal.

The annual national award Air Gateway of Russia was established in 2015 by the organizing committee of NAIS, the Federal Air Transport Agency and industry portal AVIA.RU in order to create a positive image of airports and their business reputation in society and to identify and encourage the most efficient and consistently developing airports of Russia.

The advisory board of the award includes representatives of the largest Russian airlines and industry associations, as well as industry-leading and federal journalists.

The main award nomination Best Airport is traditionally awarded to airports based on their categories and annual passenger traffic. Evaluation is carried out according to criteria reflecting the operation of airport terminals and services, such as: quality of customer service (passengers and airlines), operating performance, transport safety, non-aeronautical airport activities and others.

NOVOSIBIRSK International Airport is the largest air hub in Russia east of the Urals on major transit routes between Europe and Asia. The capacity of domestic terminal makes up to 1,800 passengers per hour, while the international terminal capacity – up to 1300 passengers per hour. The airport has two runways of ICAO I and II Categories.
