NOVOSIBIRSK International Airport Participated in Routes Silk Road 2015 Forum

The delegation of NOVOSIBIRSK International Airport took part in Routes Silk Road forum held from 5th to 7th July in Tbilisi, Georgia. The forum saw attendance of 250 senior industry experts from more than 50 airlines and over 70 international airports.

 


The Novosibirsk airport’s representatives conducted a series of meetings and negotiations with the airlines of China, Kazakhstan and Russia in the context of launching new regular flights from Novosibirsk and the possibility to add frequencies on the already operating routes including southern regions of Russia - Mineralnye Vody and Gelendzhik. The issues of potential partnership with the airlines regarding their transfer prospects and participation in the project on the development of transfer traffic on the basis of M2 agreement with TCH (Transport Clearing House) were considered as well.

 

NOVOSIBIRSK International Airport is the largest air hub in Russia east of the Urals on major transit routes between Europe and Asia. The capacity of domestic terminal makes up to 1,800 passengers per hour, while the international terminal capacity – up to 750 passengers per hour. The airport has two runways of ICAO I and II Categories. In 2014 the passenger traffic exceeded 3.9mln passengers and cargo traffic totalled 28.6 thousand tons of cargo and mail handled.

Routes Silk Road forum was held for the second time. The forum appears a productive platform to stimulate development of the global market of air services consolidating aviation potential of CIS, East Europe, Middle East and Asia. Among its attendees are airports, airlines, equipment suppliers, investors, international and regional associations as well as national tourism organizations.
